During installation using Windows NT resp. 2000 you receive a file error: "Components transfer error ...".
Solution:
It is necessary that you have all administrative privileges and that all applications are closed.
Important: For installation give all administrative privileges to the Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel_2001-user. After installation you can withdraw these again.
(It is the best, if you install the program as local administrator)
For a trial-version you do not get a license-number. Just skip the dialog "insert license-number" by pressing return and follow the instructions on the screen.
Solution:
(Please select anew the desired kind of installation)
When installed with another account as the Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel_2001-user-account, the user-specific settings are not automatically transferred. (see problem 1)
After installation in a network calling up the Client-Software you keep getting the request to "insert the license-number" due to wrong spelling.
Solution:
Either deinstall the network installation (control panel/software) and install anew with the correct spelling or open the file "Stahlschluessel_2001.ini" with the editor (situated in server-path\Daten). Behind License= you change the letters to capitals (please make no other alterations !)
You do not have the possibility to leave the CD-ROM in the drive constantly and want to use the software without CD-ROM.
Solution:
Start the program Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel 2001, and then press simultaneously the keys Shift + Ctrl + K. You receive the dialog "Disable CD-ROM check". Please note the number in "User ID", and send us the form: CD-Unlock by facsimile (+49 7144 4690) containing all the requested information. We will send you as fast as possible the UnlockKey which you please insert in the field below, called "UnlockKey". (Please do not close the dialog, because the UserID is changing every time it is opened.)
When working from a network, you have to insert the two numbers with the editor into the file Stahlschluessel_2001.ini (situated in server-path\daten) behind UserID= resp. UnlockKey=.
While you start the Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel 2001 you get the message: "The drive is either not ready or is not a CD-ROM drive!" even though it is a CD-ROM-drive, or you can not find out who is using the Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel 2001.
Solution: Please download our Service Pack 1.
You have got problems with the database access due to a mixture of database access components. This problem especially occurs with WIN 2000 combined with WIN service pack 2. The Error: "Modul SteelFunc Number 3114, ..." turns up if you try to activate a material (double-click in the designation list box)
Note: Our new service pack 2 includes the service pack 1 as well as programming modifications to avoid problems 3 (capital and small letters are not recognized as different characters) and 4 (user profile data is additionally saved on the local machine in Stahl2001.ini).
Solution:
Please download our Service Pack 2 and install it on the affected stand alone PC or on the server (from the PC where the original installation was made) and after that on all clients (service pack is located in the application path of Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel on the server) which access the Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel 2001 software.
After the new Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel of 2004 (version 4.0) was installed on your system the version 3.0 can not be operated correctly any more.
Important:
Before you install the new Service Pack 3, Service Pack 2 must have been installed on your system. Via Menu Help => Info you can find out the release of your software (must be 3.00.0001).
Solution:
Please download our Service Pack 3 and install it on your PC resp. on all affected clients accessing the Key to Steel - Stahlschluessel 2004.
